We’ve just wound up AFL finals time in Melbourne, and what more do you associate with football time than meat pies. It’s a funny old Australian culinary tradition, and a real novelty for people outside of the old British Empire.
With hundreds of thousands of pies being enjoyed on Grand Final Day alone, I wanted to find out how best to explain the meat-pie to my German friend Philip and discover ‘what makes the perfect pie?’ Have a listen:
