Fear in Footscray

People are feeling really unsettled about what’s coming next as the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to shut down the world.

When I recorded this piece in Footscray, it was the end of the first week of the transition into lockdown in Australia. Footscray is famous in Melbourne for being a hub of diversity and for its reputation as a real battler’s suburb. It attracts people from everywhere.

Like most of the city, people are worried. More than anything, they’re worried about their health and the health of their loved ones.

In these times, it’s really important that we stick together and stay kind, everyone’s health and lives depend on it. Have a listen:
